Aeroméxico or Aerovias de Mexico (the Airways of Mexico founded as Aeronaves de México) is a flag carrier of Mexico, based in Mexico. Currently, it operates on more than 90 destinations which includes Mexico, South America, Central America Europe, Asia and the Caribbeans. The airlines headquarter is located in the Torre MAPFRE on Paseo de la Reforma. The Airlines has its base in Mexico City itself.

Aeromexico works closely with the U.S. carrier Delta Airlines which owns part of Aeromexico and in 2015, the later airline announced its intention of acquiring 49% of the the stakes in Aeromexico.

Aeromexico Cancellation Policy

Aeromexico offers its customers a flexible cancellation policy to ensure that customers get a stress and hassle free experience.

  • Aeromexico has discontinued cancellation fees for first, business, premium economy and economy class for all domestic and short haul international flights.
  • Incase of flight change, the customer does not have to pay any change fee but will have to pay the difference in fare if the later flight is more expensive.
  • Passengers travelling on Basic fare class who are affected by sudden cancellation due to weather or government restrictions can claim their refunds.
  • The refunds would be credits back to the original payment method within 7-10 business days.
  • The Aeromexico cancellation policy applies to all refundable and non-refundable fares.

Aeromexico 24 hours cancellation policy

  • The passengers who book flights through the official website or the Aeromexico app are also covered under the 24-hours free cancellation policy.
  • Passengers can cancel their ticket within 24 hours of purchasing the ticket without any cancellation policy.
  • Beyond 24 hours, the passengers need to pay $200 to the airline for cancelling the flight.
  • 24-hour cancellation is not applicable to group bookings.
  • Also, tickets booked from miles points are not permitted under the 24-hours free cancellation policy.
  • 24-hours cancellation also does not apply to Basic or Value fares

Aeromexico Cancellation Fee

  • In case of cancellation after 24 hours of purchase of the Aeromexico Flight ticket, $200 cancellation will be applicable.
  • Depending on the fare rules on your ticket, you will be eligible either for refund or a credit voucher.
  • The validity of your credit voucher will remain only for 365 days from the date of cancellation.
  • The cancellation fee will not be applicable for flights within Mexico, Puerto Rico, the Caribbeans and the U.S.
  • The fee will not be applicable in case of an unfortunate event of the death of a passenger or immediate family member.

  • Passengers can request cancellation of flights no later than two hours prior to the departure.

Aeromexico offers passengers the convenience of travelling with their pets in various ways. Passengers can carry the pet in check-in baggage, or as cargo, or inside the cabin as well.
