Round-trip can be cheaper than one-way
When you are looking for good deals on flights there are times when you can find the best deal by booking two individual one-way tickets; this particularly important when flying low cost carriers like JetBlue or Southwest. What you may not realize is that there are also times when you might want a one-way ticket but it is actually cheaper to book round-trip.
British Airways currently (March 2012) is offering some very good deals to and from the US to London, but the one-way prices are more than double the round-trip prices in some cases, like London Heathrow Airport to Boston’s Logan Airport.
Always be sure to check all of your options before booking your airfare as most search engines and online travel agencies would not present the round-trip option to you if you choose to search only for one-way fares.
