Maxies Bistro & Wine Bar – Edinburgh

Maxie’s Bistro & Wine Bar has a great location in Edinburgh, just outside of the Edinburgh castle. If only the food lived up to the fantastic local, it would be the perfect bistro.

Weather permitting, there is a small outdoor area with great views of the rooftops of Old Town Edinburgh. Since the restaurant is located at the top of the Royal Mile, just below the castle, the views are great and the atmosphere cannot be beat. Unfortunately, the food is a bit bland and standard.

Recommended for light starter or to enjoy a drink while soaking in the views, an additional bonus is that because the restaurant is slightly off the Royal Mile, it is not typically as crowded as some other restaurants just around the corner, so it can be an ideal spot for getting away from the crowd and enjoying a drink.
